Synopsis

Sk8 Angel is the story of Con a 14 year coming to terms with the death of his mother and trying to make sense of his need for a relationship with his father (John) and yet his anger after him being absent at this and earlier times of need. We journey with Con on the day of the funeral to his mothers graveside where eventually it all becomes to much; he runs away ending up at a Skate Park where he meets ‘Sk8’ a character who becomes a friend and ‘teacher’.

6 months later Con is living with his Aunt and through skating has found a new focus allowing him to move on. Meanwhile John is still wrestling with his guilt for and concern over his son. He reappears, turning up at the park to try and make a new connection with Con and set things straight between them.  This as the day approaches where Con is to perform his new trick - a 360 kick flip Mctwist. John’s presence as Con rehearses the ‘big one’ leads to an accident. Sk8 and John are then left supporting and reflecting on Con’s fight for survival.
